@sweetinthird: I plan math and I make math slides to go with the curriculum and it has been SO helpful! What do you do?? #savvasrealize #elementarymath #teachersoftiktok

I hate it. I teach 3rd grade and it moves too fast.

I start with the solve and share, sometimes I do the video or teach the concept myself without the video. We do the guided questions together. We rotate through centers and students finish the workbook pages at my group (less questions and more support with lower group) they do the practice buddy at an independent center and do a math game or task cards at a group center.

Our district bought the teacher manual , 1 class set of workbooks (we teach 4 classes)and that was it. I asked , do we have online access?? They said no. How worthless!

I enjoyed it when I taught fifth. I would complete a vocab of the lesson in the beginning first, solve and share second, then the visual learning, and finally get to the lesson in the book. I think it’s important to do the solve and share even if the kids aren’t sure how to do it.

We need to teach to the standards not a curriculum. I get that districts fail to see this but we should be teaching standards. Curriculums are failing our students.

We do the entire lesson together aside from independent practice. Reteach pages after the lesson. I use the daily reviews as morning work. Savvas quick checks after the lesson are done independently as an exit ticket. Practice buddy for extra work. The additional practice pages are for homework.

It is terrible! The strategies are not age appropriate and it moves entirely too quickly for students to even to understand the concepts.

It was hard to get used to but after a few years, I’ve started to like it. I just follow it as is except sometimes I only do one of the Problem Solving problems. Also, I don’t use their tests. They are awful.

I used envisions last year teaching first grade ! it’s not developmentally appropriate for grade 1. we ended up making slides and picking and choosing problems for the kids to practice. we did the solve and share where the kids would solve and two would share how they did it, then we would pick a problem or two to model how to solve the problem , and then we’d play the videos attached to the online part of book. finally we all did a problem together from the book and then we would pick 3 problems from book for the kids to go and solve on their own and if they finished early they would go back and do the rest !!

First grade here…not a fan. The pacing is too fast and it just feels all over the place.

Day one I do the independent practice and only pick essential problems. Day 2 we do the same lesson but in the additional practice book this is also when I do rotations based on how they did the day prior.

Solve and share, visual learning who class. Guided practice small group then assign independent practice problems. I then check their answers.

We watch the video, (I bought resources from TpT-worksheets), we complete some of the worksheet together, make them do a couple on their own, then students complete and exit tickets at the end. In with morning students work with a Quick Check (just purchased this year).

This is my third year in third! Absolutely hate the tests and the structure! We start with multiplication and by January go back to three digit subtraction?!! Make it make sense

Visual learning section, guided math centers and teacher table teach the solve and share. After guided math centers, we watch the wrap up video.
