CHAPTER FOUR: Unfiltered OCD Flare PSA: I AM OKAY, I REPEAT I AM OKAY (before I get a million texts, calls, and DMs panicking and worrying, you can still send them to say hi 👋🥰)  Unfortunately OCD is a lifelong condition, and some days looks like this. If you see me on the street you wouldn’t know, I’m great at “faking normal”, but when I am somewhere away from everyone else I let myself feel my feelings…which can be terrifying. Over the past 2 years I have gone from a diagnosis of “severe OCD” to the lower end of “moderate”. Some weeks I barely feel it, others flares happen - like any other chronic condition - and I want to curl in a ball and cry. Sometimes I do. OCD comes in every theme imaginable - for those without OCD, think of any topic and I promise someone has OCD around that, aka a “theme”. I’ve personally struggled with A LOT of health related, contamination related, magical thinking related, abandonment / rejection related, and relationship related OCD. ⬆️ all of that is too much to unpack in just one caption, but needless to say- things you can think of in those “topics” flare my OCD way more. So, being sick for a few days gets my brain running on overdrive. This video is meant to serve as a PSA, a “behind the screen” look of what OCD actually looks like. So here’s what I ask of you if you’ve made it this far in the caption: 1. ASK questions - I believe when it comes to mental health, especially OCD, people lose battles sitting in shame because they suffer in silence. 2. SHARE - especially if you KNOW someone with OCD or love someone with OCD, especially October 12-18th which is #ocdawarenessweek during #ocdawarenessmonth  3.
