What’s even worse, I saw someone selling a damaged copy for £125. Damaged?! FairyLoot will more than likely replace it for them, so they’re trying to profit from a free book at that point 🙄

I am considering selling mine as I have the combo box and couldn't skip and already have the German English edition but im worried that if I sell it for cost a scalper will just buy it 💔 hoping if I do decide to sell it, ill be able to find a book bestie who really wants it!

I emailed Fairyloot yesterday asking if they would consider doing a drop for general sale (without a subscription), to discourage the price gouging by resellers, so that those of us who actually want a copy might be able to get one. Hopefully they will, I’ve been on the wait list for a subscription for over a year and would have adored a FL copy of Alchemised. I’d rather directly give FL the money than some greedy person taking advantage on Vinted!

But the problem is all first edition or signed copy’s are worth money. I was on the wait list for 18months. I wouldn’t sell my books but you can’t ask people not to make money on first edition or signed editions. Older books can go for ££££ are you asking them not to sell for that!

Also…I emailed FL about potentially buying a returned damaged Alchemised, I couldn’t bare the thought of them going in the bin because of a small scratch or bend, and no, they won’t sell me one. I said I’d sign a disclaimer to say I agreed to buy a damaged one and wouldn’t try resell, but no. I hate the thought of them going in the bin 😭

My Problem is, that i do not want alchemised ( ya and adult combo box, and no skips left, so i had to get it since i love sue lynn tan) and i want to trade it for when the moon hatched ( i also dint want to pay 80+ for a 30 book), but if i upload the book with a cheap price and say i want to trade, i will just get Lots of peoole that still want to buy it, which doesnt help me, so i have to use a high price, to make Sure i actualy have a Chance to trade rather then sell😅

And another thing, buying from the scalpers will eventually make the entire process of getting a special exclusive edition very difficult and very expensive. Because subscription boxes would see people paying exorbitant amounts for the books online so they could decide to raise their prices of their subscription boxes.

it winds me up. How do they not feel bad? I sold mine for £40 and felt bad putting it up for that price, had to make a bit though because I have no pay this month 🥲. Will never sell a book for what I wouldn't pay for it myself but im shocked that they're selling too! How much money do people have 😅

I feel so awkward on this, I got a fairyloot subscription and I never check what book I’ve got coming. I don’t have much of an idea of Alchemised, now I got this special edition that others really want and I’m disgusted what people are reselling them for. I’m gonna read it as it does sound like something I’d enjoy, and honestly think the Waterstones special edition is nicer than the Fairyloot version 💀

I really want the first 3 Fouth wing Waterstones editions (I was late to the game with the series) but love collecting special editions but the resale price for the books are actually mental! Asking £200 + for three books is mind bobbling when they were £20 each orginally :(

I’m in the US so mine cost $46, but I sold at cost (weeks in advance) and had it delivered directly to the buyer (from FL). Saved me a skip as it wasn’t anything I was interested in reading. There’s no reason to be greedy.
