@buildswithclay: Tadelakt is a waterproof plaster surface used in Moroccan architecture to make baths, sinks, water vessels, interior and exterior walls, ceilings, roofs, and floors. It is made from multiple coats of lime plaster, polished, and treated with soap to make it waterproof and water-repellent. What would you like to make with this ancient method? . . . #tadelakt #diyproject #plastering #homerenovation #EcoFriendly

From kitchen backsplash’s to outdoor showers, the sky is the limit for this ancient plastering method. What would you like to see this method used for?

In Mocorro, they traditionally use a black olive oil soap that helps waterproof it and protect. Here we use a nice olive oil soap from Italy. Just as long as it’s pure it doesn’t matter (no canola or any other)

This is disgustingly really good like fine print good like silk over a table. It’s perfect.

So interesting! Is it a special type of soap used to treat it? I would assume so that it doesn't lather when it's wet
