For the spitting thing. People in China normalise everything that people in other countries don’t. You can spit on the floor, burp, and fart in public without being embarrassed. But that usually only happens in towns and neighbourhoods. Not much in big cities where many people go to visit, restaurants, transportation, etc.

I got lost in Shanghai once, and people were so friendly and they took selfies with me and even bought me train tickets. That was the best day even though I was lost most of the time 🤣
