Morality is absolutely relative. The evidence is literally overwhelming.

this still makes morality subjective though. you can argue god is in the best position to articulate moral laws, but if he is the author of them then that makes them subjective because they are being issued by a subject—the subject being god.

People confuse subjective morality with justifiable moralty. Morality is inherently relative. Slavery existed as a morally correct thing to do. Murder, sacrifices, such things are morally correct in some cultures and times. It really is relative. Sure, there are some overall ‘morality’ that has followed over time. But its all entirely contextual and interpretive to the point it cannot be generalized. History and the many things that were done and see as ‘morally sound’ is a constant reminder of the relativity of our morality.

I don’t think people are necessarily getting the argument. It’s talking about morals and fhe existence of God. If you continuously ask why something is wrong, you’ll never reach a conclusion, because you’ll never be able to prove something’s actually wrong, but we still agree it is. In this case, we need a creator or higher being that created those laws, and set them up to be considered “wrong.” He’s talking about the fact that if morality was purely subjective, then we’d fall into relativism. In which that goes down a slippery slope, I could steal, any form of immoral acts because I claim to not find it immoral.

Morality is a series of beliefs on what is acceptable and good, and what is not.
"good" isn't a measurable physical value. Every person has own sense of good, and what can be good for one, will be bad for other. So, it's subjective.

Morals are made by your parents and the people around you. If there is no one to show you what morals are good or bad you will have morals that are both good anf bad. if you live alone for years and have nothing to get morals from you are moraless

IMO, it could be both. I will say that it’s always been subjective though but also be objective. This world has always been survival of the fittest. Before society, we had laws of the jungle. Animals until this day go by laws of the jungle. They literally have to kill, eat, and steal from other animals for survival. So, morality is basically a human made construct and for that it has to be originally be subjective as there was no morality to begin with. Nobody had a thought killing or stealing was bad during the cavemen days, before we even started having a society built infrastructure. All they thought was survival. Morality standards we have today came from progression. We went from slavery, punishment torturing, etc. to what we have today. And how exactly we were able to progress? From what other group of people’s subjective standpoint on morality was. So, yes to me it’s originally subjective to begin with. But progression had almost all cultures agreeing to some of the same common moral standards, therefore it’s objective at the same time.
