@roannmohammed: Respuesta a @Jehovah’s Thickness What do you call a nosy person in your country? I know in Barbados people say “you too malicious!” 🤣 The Trini word of the day for today is “Maco” which is another word that we use from Trinidad patois which was inspired by the French and African mixing in Trinidad. I love sharing these words about Trinidad and Tobagos language from the Trinidad and Tobago dictionary the Côté Ci Côté Là (another Trinidadian Patois/creole phrase) written by John Mendes. Keeping our ancestral culture and language alive! #caribbeantiktok #trini_tiktoks #trinidad #trinidadandtobago #barbados
In Grenada we say ‘maco’ as well, as our dialect is mainly French creole as well. We also use words such as Tébé or Mélé to describe people who gossip etc, as well as other words like mamaguy, beh beh, galé, and much more! I also noticed Grenada and Trinidad have the exact same parish & county names.
