My ex would tell me to plan weekend events so I would and he wouldn’t want to do it and then he told me that he used to look forward to weekends but now we never do anything but it was him that didn’t want to do anything but made it seem like it was me.

Same. Or that I know he wants to go to a certain place and I just say it because I know that’s where we’d end up anyway because he’ll not be happy with anywhere I suggest .

I stopped suggesting, I used to say I don’t care, you can pick, you worked all day so make it your choice…..then I would get, why can’t you make a choice?

Yes! Birthdays, him: where do you want to eat for your birthday? Me: Mexican! Him, No let’s eat Italian. He always got his way. If you ask me now I just say whatever idc. It’s hard to make small decisions, will I even get what I want? Why bother?

I have no financial details or allowed any information about the accounts, shares or anything that is in the bank accounts or credit on anything. He puts my name on things and still never gives any information about anything. Every time I have tried to get him to give me something he turns it into something that I end up feeling bad about asking for simple information that I deserve to know. He won’t let me decide the place I want to go for my birthday and I have not even been able to celebrate my birthday since I’ve been with him bc he always caused problems and made me feel horrible about being excited about the holiday. Ruining everything and then he does 💩 like telling people that I was the reason for not being able to attend the event. He tells people it’s always my fault we canceled or I somehow caused him to behave like he did and I caused him to have an episode. The things he says are so weird to even say at all. Like he told people that I was sick or something bc his work party was a questioning of my health status. and he tells people that he has a relationship with my kids from 1st marriage. Which he doesn’t and definitely not paying for stuff or anything like he says.

Lord I just went through this exact conversation. He ended up picking the place which was not that good. Then got mad because he didn’t understand the waitress but I did and answered. Apparently I shouldn’t have answered for him. Crazy

Mine told me to pick a movie for us to watch. I picked one and he was like “THIS?! You picked THIS for us to watch?!” I was like… “you told me to pick a movie??” He said “I didn’t think you would choose THIS one!” 🙄

Covert narc would place the idea of that place in your head by constantly talking subtly about it (my friend went there, one of my coworker was talking about it) and when you pick up on it, she will say “is that where “you ”want to go, sure”

it's a power thing too. if he makes a mistake, or loses face, he will lose some power. so he wants me to make all final decisions so it's never his fault if things go wrong or it doesn't work out. he also then gets to feel superiority for me always making the wrong choices. he finds a way to say "I told you so"

I could even made plan a day before or a week before it didn’t matter, with the kids or him and I and he agreed with it and the next day… I don’t feel good today or I dont want to go out the house.
