Have you ever thought of making baklava in the smoker?! This was the most unique baklava I’ve ever had!   We have had a massive heat wave here in Ohio… and thankfully I was able to try out this experiment without spending hours outside using my @GE Profile Indoor Smoker! This thing was a life saver!! Ingredients: * 1.5 cups pistachios * 3/4 cup water * 3/4 cup sugar * 3/4 cup honey * 1 orange peel * 1 cinnamon stick * 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon  * 1 package of Phyllo dough, I used about half.  * 1 - 1.5 cups melted Ghee 1. Preheat the smoker to 200°F and getting the pistachios onto a baking sheet. Place them in the smoker for an hour.  2. Place a sauce pan over medium heat and add the water, sugar, honey, orange peel, and cinnamon stick and stir. Bring to a simmer and reduce the heat to low and continue to stir and simmer  for 10 minutes.  Remove from the heat and let cool completely.  3. When the nuts are done, let them cool before transferring to a blender along with the ground cinnamon and blending until you have a chopped nut mixture. 4. Grab a small sheet pan and brush the entire inside with melted Ghee. Then cut the Phylloh dough to fit the pan, and place one sheet down into the sheet tray, brush more ghee on top of the dough. Place another sheet down and brush with ghee and repeat until you have 7 layers.  5. place down 1/3 of the nut mixture onto the dough and spread it out. Then place another sheet of dough on top, brush with ghee, and repeat until you have 5 layers. Then Place down another 1/3 of the nut mixture. 6. Repeat using 5 sheets of dough between the nut mixture layers, and the final top layer should have 6-8 layers of dough. 7. Preheat the smoker to 300°F and cut the baklava into triangles. Then place the tray into the Smoker and let it cook for 60 minutes! 8. Remove the baklava from the smoker, and immediately pour the syrup mixture over the top and getting into all the cracks!
