THE #1 PROTEIN MISTAKE NEW VEGANS KEEP MAKING 🌱💪 When I first went vegan, I made the same mistake a lot of new vegans make: I thought eating MORE plants automatically meant eating enough protein. Plants are great—but not every plant food is a protein-dominant food. 🫘 Black beans: Great source of fiber, carbs, minerals AND protein. But I consider them a hybrid food because you're getting significantly more carbs than protein. 🍝 High-protein pasta: Definitely an upgrade if you want extra protein, but depending on the product, you're still getting substantially more carbs than protein. 🥬 Kale & leafy greens: Incredible for fiber, vitamins and minerals—but you're not realistically building a high-protein diet around kale. The mistake isn't eating these foods. The mistake is counting on them to do the heavy lifting for your protein intake. If your goal is building muscle, make your meals around protein-dominant plant foods like seitan, tofu, tempeh, TVP, soy/pea-based proteins and higher-protein meat alternatives. Then use beans, grains, vegetables and healthy fats to build out the rest of the meal. That's how you stop asking: “Where do vegans get their protein?” …and start asking: “How much protein do I need for MY goal?” 👇 Comment “VEGAN MUSCLE” and I'll reach out about creating a customized vegan meal plan to help you build lean muscle. 🌱💪
