I'm a med surg nurse, this is why I train. All it takes is a simple fall. Sometimes, the hip fracture causes the fall... because of weak bones and decreased muscle mass. You know where you get stronger bones and increased muscle mass? That's right, the gym.

There is no such thing as dying of old age, even in centenarians; everyone who dies, dies of disease, even if undiagnosed, because aging reduces the body’s capacity to withstand injury, illness, etc so having the ability to recover is literally essential to longevity.
