One time I was driving to a trail in the river Bluffs in Missouri. I couldn’t find the spot where the trail started so I kept driving around these narrow gravel roads with trees on both sides, looking for it. Some of them were dead ends, some of them just circled back the opposite direction. One of the dead ends I noticed there was a Camper parked past a cinderblock barricade pretty much engulfed in trees. It was really run down like it’d had been there for a long while. I sat there looking for the tail on maps on my phone. I gradually got this feeling that I was exposed or unsafe somehow. The kind of feeling you get when you think you’re being followed or watched or something. That feeling kept getting worse and I couldn’t focus and kept looking around and listening. Right as I was about to leave I noticed there was someone inside the camper, peering through the curtains watching me. I felt a huge surge of fear and he quickly ducked away. As I was trying to get the hell out of there, he peeked out again and that’s when I almost screamed. His eyes were much bigger than they should have been. Much bigger like 3x the size… and coal black and shiny. Also he looked more animal than person. Like a human with mange or something. As I pulled away the camper was rocking back and forth. It was crazy! I called the non-emergency line just to make sure it wasn’t someone that needed help but I never heard anything after that. Never went back either. That was in 2023.
