Don't trust Consumer Reports for chemical testing. They're very alarmist. Most of the lead testing they do shows extremely low levels but they present it like it's an actual health concern.

Depends how much lead. A lot of stuff is gonna have lead in it cause we poisoned the earth with leaded gasoline for like 80 years. It affected lol a whole generation of people.

from chocolate to cinnamon alot of products are gonna contain a bit of lead and/or other metals. cassava (what tapioca pearls are made of) is a root, so its going to have a bit more. Its not enough to affect your health though.

It’s more so how the cassava is harvested. If the soil is contaminated then the cassava root will absorb the harmful chemicals. The Caribbean doesn’t have issues with people dying from lead poisoning from cassava.
