In late July, I almost lost my cat. Whiskers my 4-year-old tabby was trapped inside my home during a sudden electrical fire. I had left for the store for less than 20 minutes. By the time I returned, the house was already engulfed in thick smoke. Firefighters arrived quickly, but it took another 30 minutes before they found him under the porch, barely breathing, covered in soot, and unable to move. At the emergency vet, the news wasn’t good: three broken legs, smoke inhalation, and burns along his left side. I was told, gently but honestly, that most animals don’t come back from trauma that severe. But he was alive. And he was fighting. We went through surgery, splints, antibiotics, and a lot of waiting. The vet staff was incredible, but even they didn’t expect a full recovery. Whiskers was immobile for the first couple of weeks. He ate very little and lost weight fast. That’s when I started researching additional options. I wasn’t looking for a miracle just something that might support healing. After a recommendation in a pet recovery forum, I came across Taily Collagen on Amazon. It sounded clinical enough: a hydrolyzed collagen supplement meant to support joint repair and tissue regeneration in animals. The ingredient list was straightforward, so I decided to try it. I started mixing a small dose into his wet food every morning. At first, nothing changed. But around week three, I started noticing small things. He stopped flinching when adjusting his body. His appetite came back. The swelling around his legs decreased faster than expected. By week six, the vets began commenting on his progress his X-rays showed faster bone healing than anticipated. His fur started to regrow around the burns. He began using the litter box on his own again. Slowly, the limp improved. It’s been just over two months since the fire. He’s not fully back to normal he likely never will be but he’s walking, eating, and sunbathing again. He even jumped (clumsily) onto the couch last week. I can’t say Taily Collagen was the only factor in his recovery. There were great surgeons, constant care, and a lot of luck involved. But I do believe it played a role in how quickly and cleanly his body repaired itself especially considering how damaged he was at the start. If you’re dealing with a seriously injured pet and looking for something evidence based to support healing, I’d recommend giving it a try. No expectations, just the possibility of helping the process along. Whiskers is proof that sometimes the body can surprise youespecially with the right tools. #cat #cathealth #cattok #catsoftiktok #catmom
