Ok, so our money is put into a 401(k). We are offered a host of mutual funds to invest in. Are you saying that the managers of these mutual funds who buy stocks with our money can now invest this money in these new private equity firms instead of publically traded stocks? This would have to be disclosed in those booklets they sent us every year tthat no one reads. Also it would change their investment risk rating in the choice of investments we have - which again no one looks at. Is this what you’re saying? Most of the people I work with in healthcare have no idea what they invest in. The lack of financial education is a serious concern

Ok I do this through my IRA. It’s called a self directed IRA. There’s lots of rules, but u can invest in a company you control. I despise Trump, but this is a great thing, if you are a little savy. Financial institutions and advisors hate it because there’s no money for them in it.
