i HAVE heard someone say that they cant draw black people. i told that person "just draw someone as you normally would and make their skin darker" and then their next drawing was of a beautiful black oc with an afro wearing a coquette dress

It’s perfectly fine to say you can’t draw black people 😭 if you’re refusing to TRY that’s when it becomes an issue but not being able to properly draw the features of a black person shouldn’t mean you’re going to get attacked

I don't completely trust the comments saying that the hair is as hard as they claim, I found drawing black people and the different hair types besides loose curls the easiest to draw and there isn't just 1 hair type or color for black people. If the curls are difficult then look into different braid styles or locs. Free form locs are especially friendly if you struggle because you can draw them in almost any shape and style. Hair in general is difficult, I get it, but black hair is incredibly diverse and there's like a million different ways to draw hair and was the easiest for me and some other students in my art class when we were learning how to draw hair.

Tbh, I only struggle with picking skin colors, and it doesn’t matter if they’re a light skin tone or a darker skin tone, I don’t want it too look too grey or to orange or yellow or red
