I can’t figure out crochet for nothing. No matter what I do my chain always comes up tight and shortens. It doesn’t matter how much thread I leave loose and hanging it never works out for me

So I do a similar stitch keeping four stitches on the hook at a time. It’s called the Trinity stitch.
