@stereogum: The fusion of the political and the personal, the comic and the catastrophic, has always defined @nekocaseofficial‘s art. Over a nearly three-decade career, she has cultivated one of the most distinctive voices in American song. Her albums unravel like musical picaresques: restlessly digressive, bluntly funny, strange — but never in ways you’d anticipate. ‘Neon Grey Midnight Green,’ Case’s excellent new album out now via @ANTI- Records, “is for and about musicians, it is a love letter and a testimony,” she says. “We are valuable.” In an interview with Stereogum, Case went deep on the new LP, the ‘Thelma & Louise’ musical, grief, genderfluidity, Mary Margaret O’Hara, Nardwuar, Twitter, the Grammys, and more. It’s the latest We’ve Got A File On You, up now on stereogum.com. [📝: Emma Madden, 📷: Ebru Yildiz] #NekoCase #NewPornographers #ThelmaAndLouise #LarsVonTrier #AngelOlsen
