No one except another teacher understands how consuming teaching is as a profession, it’s a toxic profession. You might decide to go back later on, but good for you for seeing how much your family needed you more than you needed that teaching job.

Listening to this made me emotional and I feel it was something that I needed to hear. I’m on year 21 and recovering from a health issue two years in a row! I’m thinking that this might be my last year of teaching.

I want to leave but I'm so scared to.. what do I do? where do I apply? will it somehow be worse.. not to mention i live out of state from family i adore- so to be able to visit for over a month in the summer and a week in winter is so important to me... i feel locked in.
