There were a groups of Europeans on expedition to the Arctic, were wholly unprepared for surviving in the Arctic, and would be found my Inuit on what the Inuit would call "Death Marches" and they thought the Europeans were ghosts or walking corpses. One of the most notable stories told by the Inuit were of the crew of the HMS Terror, who, were rescued by some Inuit, were entirely unresponsive to their rescuers, so the Inuit built them igloos to take shelter in and gave them some seals to eat, and left them for a few weeks, came back to check on them, and found everyone dead with the seals untouched but found human bones with human teeth marks in them.
