@lovegemwinkk_: so this was originally an ig story i made outta randomness lol n i was surprised to see sm swipe ups of ppls stories of these experiences 😭😞 i TOTALLY get being socially drained, etc. bc same 😭 but i’ve been hearing stories of cosplayers being highkey rude n only associating w u if u have a lot of followers or a $400+ cosplay. context: i started cosplaying in 2014, and stopped 2019. i continued again this year n noticed … a shade in the air. i complimented someone’s WuWa cosplay n they looked at me like this: 🤨🙄😐. my gf complimented some ppl, and they either had a dry, rude “thanks” (that u would say to a creepy weird guy) or the STANK EYE. i feel like cons r where i get excited to find ppl who like the same things as me, and i feel like cons r where my social skills are better. so when someone’s a highkey d*ckhead?? yk what? i keep my cool sweet PR cosplay self but next time im literally gonna be like “ok nvm! 🥰” even when i’ve been tired or overstimulated i always AT LEAST say thank u. it’s more than just complimenting ppl too. it’s like even walking by some ppl in the cosplay community, they give u a dirty look. this wasn’t as much of a THING as it is now n it makes me sad. it seems some ppl care more about clout than actually enjoying the con, or community. i thought we were all nerds/outcasts in a community! now it’s the whole glaring up and down if ur not wearing a $500 genshin impact cosplay. i never thought freakin ELITISM would be a cosplay thing bro 😭 have that “stank” energy towards actual problematic ppl. like idk??? the racist billionaires running our country??? #cosplay #cosplayer #convention #cosplaytiktok #lovelivecosplay
