@kevintorresserrano: Breaking up might seem like it makes sense, but a lot of times with OCD in relationships, the majority of anxiety is caused by how we engage with our thoughts. And so it’s about learning how to not engage with them, (not get rid of them), and let them be present without interacting with them #ocd #ocdawareness #ocdproblems #obsessivecompulsivedisorder #ocdrecovery
Yeah, but then how will I ever know if I *actually* need to leave them?

My brain will literally catch on to one slightly negative thing and it’s like I can’t get it out of my head until I bring it up to my partner. I genuinely get like an anxiety knot in my gut. It’s extremely exhausting and I feel horrible for my partner. Idk if this is a sign of OCD or anything but I hate it

but some of those thoughts or feelings are bound to be valid, and ignoring all of them doesn't seem wise. sounds like a situation that just calls for discernment and balance.

Or… just be happy and stop thinking that we have to be with one person forever. Be with someone until you aren’t happy anymore.

Also a good reason to go to therapy somewhat consistently, they can help you identify if these thoughts are compulsions or if they have a concerning foundation and walk you through how to manage this 🙏🏻

I feel like thats hard to say. what if youre truly not happy or attracted for over a year? how can you determine if thats ocd or not? the same feelings wont go away and you truly feel like they may not be the right match for you?
