Karen Read's lawyer Alan Jackson began his cross-examination of Jenn McCabe in Karen Read’s murder re-trial on Wednesday (April 30, day 7) in Norfolk County Superior Court in Massachusetts. McCabe was with Read and her boyfriend, Boston Police Department Officer John O’Keefe, on Jan. 28, 2022, hours before O’Keefe was found dead in the snow outside fellow police officer Brian Albert’s home. McCabe is Albert’s sister-in-law, and she visited Albert that night, too. Read’s defense is that Albert is the one who killed O’Keefe, and she’s being framed as part of a Massachusetts law enforcement conspiracy. A big part of that involves McCabe conspiring with another star prosecution witness, Kerry Roberts, to get their stories straight about Read. But McCabe also spoke with others before she spoke to federal agents after they arrived at her home, including Albert. And she didn’t tell agents that when they asked her who she spoke with in the approximately 10 minutes between them arriving and her speaking with rhem. She eventually called them and told them who else she’d spoken with. "All of a sudden you had an epiphany right after you walked out the door?" Jackson asked. You can watch Jackson grill McCabe more here @Meghann Cuniff and here @Meghann Cuniff. The trial was not in session today (Thursday, May 1). McCabe returns to the witness stand in Norfolk County Superior Court Judge Beverly Cannone’s courtroom in Dedham, Massachusetts tomorrow (Friday, May 2, day 9) for more cross from Jackson. #law #crime #legal #karenread #court
