Pretty standard interaction. if you give a valid offer then most salesman will get the sale and make it easy. however when you go in think your getting 20% off which is the usual case. Car buying isn't that hard people just make it harder than it is.

That’s how it should go every time. He didn’t freak out when the discount was started he acknowledged and then said okay. That was an example of a professional.
