I work at Tescos and the newer ones are very similar to the self service ones, just with extra buttons for topups/gift cards etc and no scales to deal with

i miss it when working on the kiosk! main bank checkouts are definitely easier with the new software but i do miss this one for lots of reasons

The memories right there the stuff the new till doesn’t let you do. Splitting payments between two cards or cash needs to be brought back the bakery was basic but the system as a whole was basic but solid the new till is ass

oh yeahh, this brings back memories for when I worked in Tesco. was very easy to use. also if I remember correctly you key in the amount and then press total and then the cash button just opens then till, but not 100% sure

And now these tills aren’t used at all, they’ve all been replaced by in-house software called Tesco Till which is the same software as the self service tills and they are awful compared to the old software, so many missing features, constantly breaking one way or another as they don’t really work with the hardware very well. Only the petrol stations use an older variation of this software.
