@ohio.carpenter: It’s officially the start of my 3rd year of apprenticeship and something that has helped me from the start is having a good toolbelt and having it setup the right way and the same way as much as possible. You can see my tools are at reach not on the ground and I don’t fumble around much. Tape on the non dominant side, pencil on the dominant. Hammer on the dominant, nail puller on the non dominant. Once you have the muscle memory of grabbing things from the same spots you can stay a little more efficient and that’s what counts in the trades. Hurry every chance you get. Some jobs are hard enough without dropping things and looking for them on the fly. This is the badger carpenter sxs toolbelt but any good toolbelt brand will do.
