But now you have to print in reverse cuz the filament is backwards.

Why not just use the original spool? Works fine in AMS

Why'd you cut it so far down? You made of money that you can discard all that good filament?!?! 🤣

Over 900g of filament to print that thing? Wow!

Everyone tapes these, just drill a small hole in the AMS spools and fold the filament in. No tape and pulls out when it needs to but holes fine until then, and you only need to do it once for each reusable spool. AMS spools have a dead space it fits nicely in. Also when spooling slightly hold ontop the cardboard spool if you're going to stop or slow down as a brake, stops the roll from becoming a mess if you need to stop for a second.

If you are respooling, respool to a temporary spool and then once more to a second permanent spool.

print a cardboard spool adapter from makerworld.. its tons faster and less hassle than this.

I love how it loosely but neatly and tightly winds the spool. I've put spools in the dryer before and it all then started sticking together. this would solve that problem after drying those particular filaments

I think the feeder reel could use some kind of drag to prevent it from running away

Looks like it could be improved slightly by adding a small amount of resistance somehow on the cardboard spool side to prevent it free spinning too fast

How do you prevent your gears from getting hung up? That’s my issue right now. It’s not smooth at all

Why not use the original one? Legit question. I don't own a 3D printer

I 100% snapped the center part that moves the guide last night. It’s even all printed out of Prusament ASA. The guide and slot are even greased lol 😂

My question is why? The original spool seems fine. It is a serious question.
