The United States created Liberia for freed slaves, however, the U K also created Sierra Leone in 1787 for freed slaves. After abolition slaves who were rescued by the Royal Navy were also sent to Sierra Leone.

I see in the comments about Liberia being borne from freed slaves, but what about Indigenouspeople...my father's people were from Liberia and speak Kru/Kroo, a language which I believe is dying out. can you speak on this please
