avivkala :
isnt that first step makes you to be out of balance and really slow? i know if i do it its sort of both legs together in a fast jump to make that switching fast as possible

Got an example with a partner? Trying to visualize how this doesn't expose your side as you crossover in front of the opponent.

use the jab to hide the step, then pivot. it's much more of a natural motion & it conceals the step

looks too risky to me , too time consuming and risk of walking into a left hook ( but I never tried it either) , Chavez had a great left hook to the liver, he would shoot the jab first, slip to side ( much quicker than stepping ) and shoot the hook to the body then up with the left hook.

Jab at the same time you pivot, blocks the vision and gives them less recovery time
