I don’t think it’s really a lie. People do not pay attention to their cars until they have work done. But yeah some people try to get something out of you.

It literally does happen though. Some mechanics create more problems for business while under the hood. It 100% does happen.

Gotta love when it’s completely unrelated! “Ever since you replaced my headlight, my transmission shifts funny”. I had a service manager that would walk those people out the door. The service writers were also instructed to decline service to anyone who refused our ‘Free Vehicle Inspection’. We viewed those refusals as an attempt to set us up for a scam, and we wanted to preempt that possibility.

Well it’s true but I know what I do and I do my own labor at times I feel lazy and pay but one time I asked for something came back with different things bad when I checked before with another mechanic that it was good and was testing it smh some are like that and sum are not
