@crmnallyobsessed: Three decades after Tina Heins was brutally murdered in her Jacksonville, Florida, apartment, police say they’ve finally arrested her killer. A grand jury has indicted 52-year-old Michael Ziegler for first-degree murder. Zeigler was a close friend of Tina’s husband, Jeremy Heins, during their time in the Navy, and even attended their wedding ceremony months before the murder. Investigators say Zeigler came into the couple's apartment while Jeremy was on duty the night of April 17, 1994, stabbed Tina over two-dozen times and then set the apartment on fire. Tina was pregnant at the time. Tina’s brother-in-law, Chad Heins, was asleep in the apartment and found her body. He was wrongfully convicted of the crime in 1996 and spent nearly 11 years in prison before DNA evidence cleared him. Detectives say they ultimately found their way to Zeigler through genetic genealogy testing of DNA samples taken at the crime scene. Zeigler was arrested in Georgia in August, and has been brought back to Jacksonville to face charges. #truecrime #solved #coldcase
