@venetialamanna: And the winner is... 🥵🏆 Between June 2024 and May 2025, The Or Foundation (@TheOrIsPresent) ran 48 weekly beach cleanups in Ghana, removing over 1,500 tonnes of waste – that’s about the weight of 254 fully grown elephants 🐘 As part of these cleanups, The Or collected brand tags in a bid to track Big Fashion's oversupply. In just one year, they gathered over 15,000 tags - each carefully logged into their data system. 15,000 is a LOT of tags. If one corporation keeps showing up as often as the community cleans up, that means they’re demanding time and labour from people who never even consumed their oversupplied fashion in the first place.

Interestingly, our top polluter - Adidas - did share its 2023 output in its annual report (328 million units of apparel and 311 million pairs of footwear), but that statistic is absent from their 2024 report.
