@user10752119001: 80 years ago today, #dday, the Allies launched Operation Overlord, the land invasion of Europe during World War II, crossing the coast of Normandy and across the English Channel. My uncle, Harry "Clink" McClintock, a brave paratrooper with the 501st Parachute Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, jumped into the fields along the Calvados coast that night. He inspired my journey in the US Army as an #airborne soldier and, ultimately, as an @armysmdc astronaut. Four years ago, I carried these patches and photos on my nine-month mission to the International Space Station to commemorate his service. #ISS #NASA #asronaut
