unpopular opinion but i think jury’s let us down a LOT. with a low national reading avg and law being so complicated imo they don’t often understand the process or the legal issues.i know some people who can’t even send an email and now they have to decide what justice is for me after i lose someone? idk i just wish there was a fix

she has to live through it all for a third time basically. 1. the event. 2. the first trial. 3. second trial. not counting every time she closes her eyes and relives her sadness or any moment other than that. this is disgusting, she deserves peace.

Not everyone is equipped to be on jury duty. I was a juror in a murder trial last year. One of the jurors was illiterate and half of them barely reviewed the evidence, wanting everyone else to rush through their decision so they could go home cause they were “tired and hungry.” I couldn’t believe it.

a "mistrial" after only 3 hrs is exactly why there are alternate jurors. one should have been selected at random and replaced until a decision was reached. there's no fucking excuse for this. 3 hrs is literally no time at all in the deliberation room. I've done it. 60% of the time is in silence b/c people are too afraid to speak their opinions because they lack the temerity to do anything with conviction. the rest of the time there's a leader that comes out that steers the rest of them that fall in line once they see someone else take up their same opinion. rarely do they ask questions, they all just want to leave and go home. shameful and disgusting
