It definitely isn’t as bad as you think. I wasn’t put under for it. I was given meds that just made you comfortable. I actually go tomorrow to have it removed as I am finished with treatment. 🙏 Praying you have no issues.

Bro it’s easy peasy, I didn’t even fall asleep! What stage and diagnosis are you? I had bruising but had my first chemo within 2 weeks. Still my port, it’s all good 👍🏻

I got my port five days ago…was pretty easy. Little sore…mine went through my neck. Neck is a little stiff but no real pain. Trust me…you got this!!

Don’t be scared. It wasn’t bad…a little sore afterward but not bad at all. My fear of chemo was so much worse than the actual treatments. You can do this!!!

It was a pretty easy process. You will be fine. I was nervous but I was in and out in no time. I’m freaking out about my double mastectomy on January.

I got mine 3 weeks ago and it was fine. They gave me meds so I was awake but didn’t remember it. Was sore and bruised but didn’t need pain meds afterwards. You’ve got this!!

I am terribly scared as well. I go for my dmx follow up tomorrow and will schedule my appointment for my port. im scheduled to start chemo 10/7

Same, I don't know why the port freaked me out more! But it was quick and easy. It was ache at first and weird but you eventually forget about it!

Mine went fine, probably the easiest thing I’ve done related to all this! I didn’t do sedation at all, just lidocaine numbing. I used ice packs the next few days on it a few times a day.

It’s not bad at all. You will be grateful you have it during treatments. The access is easier than your arm. Also when you realize your arm is free during the treatments you will be relieved. Get some 3/4 zip ups or wide neck line shirts so your shirts don’t get stretched.
