As a former landscape foreman, You’re doing a good job here honestly. AND - you don’t have to let your glue dry overnight before you put water through it lol.. an hour is overkill lol. But also don’t let me mansplain - do it lady 🙌🏼

At this point you might as well replace all of the pipes.

The $1,000 was just to replace the first piece that was visible. Once it was discovered the entire system needed to be replaced you’re looking at triple that. So you’re doing great. Keep it up! Unfortunately, those pipes are old and brittle and have lost their ability to hold any pressure. The entire system needs to be taken apart and redone, including the stuff you’ve already replaced.

Given the cost of the PVC, if you need to replace 1, it makes sense to just replace everything that you dug up. It's reasonable to think that if one failed then the others that are the same age could too.

js that 1000$ was probably for the part 1 and price would kept going up as more problems came up.. plumber here in FL and I couldn't afford to have me come and fix my issues

The pipes are too old and failing. The plastic has lost its hability to hold pressure so you have to do a preemptive job and replace them all. If this would have been a paid gig it would have gone beyond $1000. So you are doing great.

Just keep going yourself. PVC is cheap. It’s annoying, you’re going to swear a lot, but in the end you’ll know more and you’ll have an understanding of what’s going on behind the scenes at your house.

Keep fixing. The resilience feels better when you’re done. Consider calling and asking if they’ll swing by to look at it - tell them you’ll pay the diagnostic fee (this will still be a couple hundred bucks - bare minimum to roll a truck, but if they’re willing to teach they know you’ll call them for big stuff)

id say its smart to do your own work like this. its not a huge financial burden, and the chance of something catastrophic happening is pretty small. and youre learning a lot.

Keep going. Normal home project in my experience. (Plus you’re fine that anybody that did things before you didn’t do it right)
