That "during peace time" is what stuck out to me the most because TNC basically was like "Black ppl have NEVER been in peace time in this country. Welcome to the real world" and Klein was just not getting it.

I’ve been a longtime admirer and avid listener of Klein and was devastated by his Kirk piece. Listening to his conversation with Coates really clarified to me how little he can be trusted right now.

I think the difference is Klein thinks that the fight for justice had largely been finished and so he’s devastated at the slip backwards. But Coates sees the fight as never ending always in flux. The goal should always be to fight and not to win.
