as someone who literally just fed giraffes myself this morning, this is her job. she knows these animals and what they are and will be capable of doing and she is just making sure no one gets hurt and they are fed properly. not a Karen at all.

That’s not a Karen, that is an employee doing what she has been trained to do - her job while also being kind. Last thing they want is parents freaking out because a Giraffe bit their child.

she is not only making sure you and your small children are safe, she is also ensuring the giraffe is safe and comfortable participating as well and all with a smile on her face! giraffes use their heads as defense and can easily hurt humans with it even if they are just expressing other emotions like impatience for their snacks! plus they have a hard plate on the top of their mouth so being bit by one is not good on fingers... zoos will have guidelines on how close guests can get to the giraffes that way it remains fun and safe for all. plus the money from giraffe feedings often goes to conservation which is a huge win!

I’ve fed giraffes many times and never had an issue with the employees. Your child seems afraid and I’m sure it’s not good to have her back turned to the giraffe. She’s doing her job
