Why not just put down the marble transition piece. They are like 50 bucks, at Lowe’s, grey and white and some off beige I’ve seen, razor a couple inches of the carpet out long way and glue the marble transition down. Plus they are waterproof so if you have a bathroom flood, it won’t go onto the carpet.
