The narrative of banks in the United States is that they don't want Ripple for obvious reasons. Banks don't really want instant transfers. Before they send money from the United States to, for example, Beijing, they spend three days operating it and making a lot of money. Combining Ethereum with Swift will certainly be a challenge for Ripple companies, but it might give Ripple a boost to become even more competitive and to implement, update, and modernize everything faster.
