It’s not a lie. They wait. They track you across multiple visits. They have an entire file on you and partner with other Target stores you’ve stolen from to get as much on you as they can. Just don’t do it. (I worked at Target for a long time 😁)

Felony is $1,000 in my state. And yes lots of places keep a tally. They take your picture from the CCTV, get a license plate and vehicle description, start a file, they won’t say a word to you, they will just keep track of what they can see you take then put it into a system when it hits the felony level in your state it kicks it up to the LP/AP department and they will figure out who you are then have a judge issue a warrant. And honestly if you’re stealing felony level merchandise you probably have a mug shot somewhere. And this system is usually linked through the whole company so if you’re hitting multiple locations of the same business your tally goes up faster.

Target usually does wait, once they have caught you stealing multiple times they will pull you back..if you steal once or twice they will just take note and write a report (I used to work there)

see everyone else says don't steal period but I say just don't steal enough for it to be a felony bc if big stores aren't gonna stop u until it's a felony that means u can get 100s of dollar worth of stuff for free without catching charges as long as u keep track of how much you've stolen and stop stealing before u hit the limit

They'll do that.And then if you're close to another location, they will like put the footage of the person like stealing like picture and like what they were wearing and what they stole that day.And let the other locations know that they can look for the same person and put all the things against them. at least when I worked at target, but there was like six or seven more like in the surrounding cities.So they just warned each other
