If I drove on home from a shop (about 75 miles) and the code came on and shortly after car turns off how bad would this be? I took mine apart and the chain isn’t stretched really at all but one of my guides broke and it rubbing against it how bad would it be on my engine or the pistons and cylinders?

My 05 deville, the rear chain is making noise and front chain is verified tight , could I be lucky doing a timing job on it , people complain that it’s really hard on the northstar but honestly it’s just a bunch of stuff in the way. Kind of rare for timing chain issues on these but I do have almost 300k miles so I’d suspect a possible failing tensioner. But might as well do timing chains, guides and tensioners.
