@mrbentleythegolden: Does your dog ever run with both back legs together, almost like they’re hopping? 🐇 This movement is called bunny hopping and while it may look harmless (or even cute), it can actually be one of the earliest signs of hip dysplasia in dogs. We first noticed bunny hopping in our golden retriever, Bentley, when he was just 3 months old! That’s how we learned about his hip dysplasia diagnosis. Catching these signs early can make such a difference for your pup’s health and mobility. 🐾 👉 If you’ve seen bunny hopping in your dog, it’s worth mentioning to your vet.

Just an fyi to everyone who now is thinking their dog has it. If your dog does this, it doesnt automatically mean they have hd. Its pretty normal for most dogs🤷🏽♂

A harmless that doesn’t cover his shoulders and restricts his movement would also be helpful 🤪😅

It can also be a sign of patella dislocation, especially if it occurs occasionally, after intense running/jumping

also have in mind if you have a dobie or a grayhound or similar when they run they have a double suspension gait that may look similar to bunny hops although its not the same

No dog runs like they walk!! All dogs run with both back legs moving at the same time, it’s how they propel themselves along
