@sophiemorrisofficial: Imagine how different we’d shop for food if the front of packaging was truly transparent about the nature of that food… I believe consumers deserve front of pack transparency rather than being misled by clever marketing or health claims which is so often the case. Today I was invited to an exclusive screening of the new @channel4 documentary “Licensed to Kill” where Joe Wicks @thebodycoach and Dr. Chris Van Tulleken @doctorchrisvt are tackling this very topic! They’ve created an ultra processed protein bar using the largest doses possible of as many harmful ingredients as possible while still legally being able to write health claims on the front of packaging (when this is clearly a bar that is not good for our health) The idea being to point out just how insane this industry has become with what is allowed to be written on food labels and as such to pressurise the government to implement a policy of warning labels on ultra processed food packaging. Alongside this health claims would no longer be allowed on these products. I’m so happy to see this topic being more and more publicly discussed and am excited to see the impact this campaign by Joe and Chris brings… The documentary is out on 6th October on Channel 4 and is a MUST SEE to get a real visual insight into the reality of the ultra processed food industry 👌 What do you think of this?
