This explains exactly why on vfd startup I’ve had the electrician swap one phase and nothing happened then the other and the direction it’s correct. I just thought I was seeing things.

Industrial controls electrician here who uses phase monitor relays all the time. Dad taught me my craft. I wish he was alive so I could ask if he’d ever seen that type of phase monitor. I’m 49 and haven’t until today. Thanks for the video.

we started using siemans dinrail mounted motor starters with phase relay and overload built into a dinky lil package a sniff wider than a singke pole mcb, really tidy. even got a couple aux contacts built in.
