@selah.joy.official: How much we spend on birthdays👇 We budget for birthdays in our Sinking Funds account and plan to spend $300 per person for our family each year. Sinking funds is a savings method where you list out all of your yearly expenses (Christmas, Birthdays, kids clothes, exc..) and write an expected yearly total next to them. Example: Christmas: $1,000 Birthdays: $1200 Kids Cloths: $1,000 You then take the total and divide it by how many months are left in the year. If you started in January, you would take $3200 and divide it by 12. So each month you would need to save $266 in one sinking funds account. You then pull from that account whenever you need to spend in the categories and log your spending manually. I have a very easy budget template to input this, link is in my bio. If we do a small at home party, we usually spend more on presents and if we do a big party, we spend the $300 on supplies, decor and food. We let the kids decide which they would prefer, more presents, or a big party. This year my son chose more presents😊
