Sometimes going bare does make sense. Of course, that generally is not an option if there’s a mortgage on the house. In some coastal areas, the land has 80% of the value and the home structure only 20%.

Insurance hack…..always get the highest deductibles and put that in savings. Payingnfor a low deductible based on chance isn’t cost effective.
