Friends if you are reading this comment—I am 29 years old, got diagnosed 4 weeks ago with no family history. Get checked! I found a lump from a self exam and promptly got into my obgyn. Started my first treatment today!

I got tested because my Dr said it was covered by insurance, but it wasn’t. I’ve been receiving a bill for over $2k from the genetic testing company.

I had a clean mammogram and then got diagnosed with stage 3 invasive carcinoma! It was then I got genetically tested and found I have the ATM Gene Mutation. I had never heard of it!!! Going through cancer treatment was HELL! 🩷

Yes but insurance doesn’t cover the testing unless you qualify. I’m sure there are many that can’t pay out of pocket!

I found my own lump and I tested negative for the cancer gene. Her2 positive, and stage 3 when I found it. According to the doctors the tumor had only started growing maybe 6-8 weeks before I found it, cancer cells were multiplying at 73%, very fast. 5 years in remission now, PERMANENT hair loss from the aggressive treatment. Get your mammograms! Do your self exams BIWEEKLY! I'm so GRATEFUL to still be here. 🙏🏻 for every woman going through the battle. 💪❤️. YOU GOT THIS because GOD'S GOT YOU!

only 30% of bc cases are genetic. more and more young ppl are being ignored when they say they have it. I was for a year. and now, after two years of treatment, it's back in my bones and liver @ 42

My insurance won’t pay for mine either. I was told for cancer screening it would cost me $1500. So tell me why we even have insurance and pay high monthly payments for it and high deductibles and they won’t cover. Healthcare is a joke in the US.

even if your brca comes back negative you still can get it. mine was negative and I have stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma.
