I am a catholic but this is something I really don't understand, how can we focus on the prayers and actively say them and at the same time meditate on the mysteries? would the prayers not become sort of unfocused and slip into vain repetition territory like protestants are afraid of?

I have the Lauduate app and use the scriptural rosary.org. I get distracted so easily but the narrator tells a brief sentence after each Hail Mary to keep you focused on the mystery! Love it

I pray it daily but I can’t recite all those words while simultaneously “entering the mystery” in this deep way. It’s never good enough in this religion. I’m TIRED.

i recommend to search of the mysteries!! i physically look at the pictures while praying the rosary so i can know what i’m looking at and what’s happening (:

Praying the rosary got me through some really tough times in high school. I’m so grateful for the practice which has allowed me to meditate in other ways throughout my life. Meditation is a practice. It takes time to get past the words and the distractions of your mind and allow yourself to be open to really hearing.

I'd imagine this comes with time and experience of saying the rosary. I think anyone starting off will not necessarily be doing it wrong intentionally. Surely just praying the rosary is a good start. We all have to begin somewhere🙏
