Not sure if you need it if you’re clasping them in, but I have a dog guard which attaches to the head rest, it may be a requirement when they’re in the boot, but not 100% sure! I use one for my doggy so he can’t climb through the back😅

I’d be tempted to set a dog crate up in the boot. So much better to stop them from rolling around in a large boot and make a massive mess. Safer for them too. In Switzerland this is very common

The safest way for a dog to be in the boot is to be in a crash tested crate, you can get them from companies like mimsafe, DT boxes etc and they are designed for each car, it means if the worst happens and you are in a crash or someone goes into the back of you the dogs are kept safe and secure 🥰

I've just got a new car & having the same problem. My fur babies made a mess of my old car, & I've decided to put them in the boot. I'm dreading it as they've never been in the boot.

I have a crate in my boot for the dog. That way I still have space for my shopping and she can't eat half of it either. 😊

Get a dog guard that goes between the back seat and boot, the dogs won’t need the physical restrain then. We have one in out discovery, hubby got it from Amazon
